About our family

Wrathall poeple came from Yourshire. Ancient English language Wrathall was the name of a particular acient grass that grew on the plains. 1830 our family ancesters came from Stepany-Poplar, north side, at the mouth of the Thames River. Steven a butcher and wife Maryanne arrived 1830 son Richard was born on the way to Tasmainia. Their oldest son William was sent out as a convict 1815, He wrote very well, as this is shown in a court letter when convicted for stealing meat during 1836 Depression, later became a Hobart business man.

our family line was Richard married Eliza Nicholias. who's grandfather was William Raynor, a Quaker, also a well known Hobart identity in his time, there is a write-up about him.
