In the family book, the generations are tagged from latest to old. Is it possible to reverse the order for generating the family book so that generations are presented starting from old to last.
I am trying to generate a chart, but it has been "in progress" for a few hours now. I see that other people have had this problem - how can it be resolved?
Hi I have had several attempts to print ("several pages on home computer") my tree. It never appears on my email. I have checked spam and all possible places. When I go back to the page it says Error or In progress. Two evenings now. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I went to make a sun chart of my family (I did this the other day with another side of my family and it worked), and the option to create a sun chart was just gone! I am really upset because the one I made the other day came out really beautiful and I wanted to make more. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was just a bug in the system or if they removed the option for good? I checked their social media and there was no announcement of them taking it away, but I just want to be sure.
I've replicated this bug multiple times, and it's rather frustrating.
I always generate charts with no photos selected in the advanced options. The first chart is created properly (with no photos), but then subsequent charts include the photos despite the 'no photos' selection. This persisted for me in all generated charts thereafter until I cleared out my session, created a different chart type (in an effort to clear everything), and reset the advanced options to 'default'. Doing any of these fixes separately did not seem to resolve the issue, but doing all of them finally got me back to 'no photo' mode... for one chart. I'll also note that going into the settings and changing it to show photos, and then switching it back to 'no photos' does not resolve the issue either.
This led me to discover another issue: clicking the 'reset to default settings' button does not reset to default settings - my only guess is that it is reverting to settings for an old default that the website has since changed. The frames, font, and background were all different than the actual default chart I had generated the first multiple times, before resetting (to remove the photo bug).
I hope there is a resolution for the photo bug issue. I am constantly generating and deleting charts as it is, which takes a lot of extra time and processing power.
For the Batmitva of our granddaughter, I need to go back 13 generations. Upon receiopt of the book it stopped at 10 generations. Is there a limit in the software or where do I adjust? To go back to the year 1648 was one of the main reason to work in MH.
I wanted add the file of the family book (19MB) . The program did not upload the file at all. Tried twice.
When generating vertical ancestor charts using FTB (builds 8397 and prior) I have recently been adding the following Fact fields: birth, death, marriage, notes, person fact 1, and person fact 2.
The labels for birth, death, marriage, and notes are b, d, m, and n; and these make sense.
The labels for fact 1 (person) and fact 2 (person) are "TODO" which do not make sense.
Fact 1 and Fact 2 could be user-defined facts and do not seem to be reserved for any "to do" notations. Could these facts be labeled "F1" and "F2" instead of "TODO" or something similar that would make sense?
I can easily see the function to add new photo's or images to the profile of my relatives. The problem is that it never seems to actually complette the process. I can select multiple photo's and the system takes a few moments while it uploadst them. Unfortunately, after this is completed the little wheel spins and never stops. I end up canceling the process and then I never have the images show up. Any help that you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!
Evening, please explain why the Family Group Sheet from Tree Builder doesn't include the children from other marriages/relationships, but only those of the first wife?
It lists the names of other marriages/relationships, but not the children.
I have looked everywhere to see if there is a setting I can adjust, but if there is one, I haven't found it.
I have attached an example which shows that there were other marriages/relationships, but none of the children from these are shown
This "ethnicity" report basically just gives an idea of what my "nationality" is. To me, "ethnicity" would tell me am I Celtic, Briton, Pict, Norse, etc.? I already knew what countries my ancestors came from.
Hi - for the past several years I haved generated various books - they all included the photos. Now all of a sudden no photos are appearing in my generated PDF books. What happened?
I've got a lot of Smart Matches and like to visually compare their trees.
Using FTB 8.0... (the latest as I write this); when I go to the Compare tab, "My tree" is there up top, but the "Other tree" is just about off the window's top-left corner, and there's no scroll option to move it, or to centre it in the bottom window. Only the 'bottom-right' person or two are showing in the corner. (Image attached).
I figure this must be a glitch in the software rather than a setting, but is this a known issue?
I need a descendent chart printed and was about to order one but the shipping price is $56US which is about the same as the printing price! Maybe its because I live in Australia. I could get it printed locally but the resolution of the dowloadable chart is extremely low. My question is, is it possible to purchase a high resolution copy?
The idea of being able to print a book is fantastic but.... After I created a book from my Tree I was a bit disappointed. The Book has all the potential of being a real great book. While creating my family tree I took great care to insert photos that I had. My father in a WWII uniform and such. My Heritage gives you opportunities to add photos. But when I saw the book that was created the only photos that were in the book were head shots. Then I realized that the photos I took great care in inserting in my tree were only visible to someone who created that tree. I am I missing something or was my inserting all these photos a waste of time. The book that My Heritage creates for you would be #1 if it printed "all" of your photos that are really in a person's tree.
How can I stop this? I was generating a book and it has been in progress for over an hour. I've tried logging out and creating a new one. I only have about 250 people and it usually only takes a few minutes. Any ideas? Thanks.
How do I delete a family tree chart from my charts and books, I am not ready to order because I have made changes to this report and need to delete it completely from my created charts. I had previously filled out the information all but the credit card information and now I need to remove this chart and creat another one.
Has anyone here experience with printing diagrams on A3 format? If so, how did you do it?
My biggest problems:
When I make an ancestor diagram, I select A3 in the setting, but when I save as PDF, it is much bigger than 297 by 420 mm. It would be allright when I print it, but I don't want to find out in the copy shop it's not.
When I make a descendants diagram, the width/lenght is something like 10:1. A circle diagram is better, but misses information like place of birth.
I have called MyHeritage support for advice. It was: "Maybe the print shop can give advice." Unlikely and not very helpful. Anyone reading this who has a better advice?
Four of my last 6 diagrams (charts) do not contain photos of the persons shown. 2 diagrams do contain them. I did not change any of my settings, which say put photos in the diagram.
Previously, when I printed off a Family Group Sheet the description for facts was printed off at the same time and included in the same area as the fact to which it related. This was particularly important and extremely beneficial when providing information to other researchers who did not have access to My Heritage Family Tree Builder.
My question is:- how can I access the original layout for the Family Group Sheet.
On 3 January 2017, I was pleased when profile photos were included in my first family book. Sadly none since then. Yesterday, 26 Feb, my most recent family book disappointingly lacked photos. Your help appreciated. Roger Baird
