I paid for a one year Premium last night 23/03/2009 because I was (and I do mean was) impressed by your software. So I paid for the Premium for one reason and one reason only to view the Smart research 953 HIGH QUALITY RESULTS not to mention the 11978 LOW QUALITY RESULTS. Needless to say not one of these results has even a passing resemblance to my family tree. So I see this as obtaining money by deception witch as far as I am aware is fraud. So I demand a full refund
I'm having problems with the Smart Research tool as well. It goes slowly and has a tendency to freeze up, even though I have a computer with more than adequate specs. Also, it found no matches for most of my relatives, and those it did find were way off. This happens even for the relatives in my tree with first and last names, and birth and death dates.
Brian I don't know why you have problems but I have been able to extend my tree into France, England, Scotland, Tunisia as well as throughout the US and Canada especially Quebec. Go to the help sources and they will assist you.

I agree! Today, as many times before, I recieved about 30 "smart" matches that had absolutely no comparence to the names in my family tree. For instance I was told that "Erik Lundin" was a smart match for "Lars Andreasson". Even if one is not familiar with the language ,everbody can see that there is not even one letter in the same place in these two names. I don´t understand how this matching technique works!
Yes my problem is with Smart Matching. I don´t know what else information I can send you.

My question still is: How can your program suggest that Erik Lundin is a smart match for Lars Andreasson?
Are you having this problem in Family Tree Builder?
If so - go the Tools > Options > Smart Matching menu.
In this menu you will be able to change the 'Match similar last names' settings to be less liberal and more strict. This should make the results you are getting more accurate.
In the near future, we are planning to release a feature that will allow you more control over the Smart Matching preferences.
If you are still experiencing this problem after the change of settings, please let me know at noam@myheritage.com.
I'm having huge problems with the Smart matching too. Working properly, it would be an immensly valuable tool, but as it is I recieve emails every week that several people in my family tree have been matched with up to a thousand(!!) other random people, with no common denominator whatsoever... (the screenshot of Per Larsson and Anders Jacobsen is only one example). Changing the settings for the Smart Matcher does not seem to have any effect at all (it even seems to change back on it's own). This is turning into a major annoyance for me! My tree contains more than 500 people and is growing steadily. If the Smart Matching tool worked properly I would seriously concider upgrading to premium, but as it is now I have no reason to believe this is worth the money.
I am also wondering wether changes in the Display-options in the Tools-menu should be permanent? I keep making changes to the way my tree should be displayed (show age, for example), but every time I open the program it is back to the original settings...
