My cousin sent my son a birthday email through the site and now it is identifying me as my son (my grandfather is now my great-grandfather, my 12-year-old son is shown to be 46 and so on). How can I fix this. I tried publishing again but it did not change.
People you invite to be members of your family site who also exist in the family tree can be associated to the tree.
If the association is incorrect, the result is just what you describe. You see yourself as your son or an aunt as an uncle, etc.
In order to correct this situation, please go to the Site Members page on your family site and find the person who is incorrectly associated. Click on him/her to enter their profile.
Use the link "Associate to family tree" (located on the right hand side of the screen underneath the place for a person's photo) to manually select the correct individual in the family tree for that person.
