One of my great aunts is the daughter of a great uncle but also is married to another great uncle. I added her as the wife but now how can I also make her as the daughter of someone else in the family. This program seems to allow only one type of relationship per person.
Also as people add people into the tree, more relationships become apparent and people started to create duplicate names for the same person. So I need to do more of this relating people withing the tree action to avoid duplicates.
Is there any way to do this? Tech support for free version is almost nonexistent, so if anyone knows of another good service, pls tell me. I am considering switching. Thanks in advance
If you have an online family tree, there's no such feature at the moment which allows to avoid duplicates when you have cross relations. But if you useFamily Tree Builder software, there is such feature called "Attach". It works in situations when for example cousings get married. In order to create two types of relations between them you can add them into tree and then go to the card of one of them, click Edit >Spouses>Attach spouse. There will be open a list with already existing individuals in the tree, you should chose the individual and attach him/her to the spouse. Attach feature works also for adding parents, childern and siblings.
