"On behalf of a danish member of MyHeritage I have noticed a problem. Looking at site http://www.myheritage.dk/site-family-tree-149850251/strange (could be any site) and looking for an individual (Johan Berner Strange) he shows up differently depending on if you are logged on or not. For logged on users everything looks ok, but if one is logged off the mother of Johan Berner Strange shows as as does Johan Berner. Logged of users see the old layout and logged on users see the new (html5) layout. Please inform me when the problem will be solved, so I can inform our local user"
See the 2 attachments and notice that I'm not a member of that site
Notice that the user browsing the mentioned site isn't a member of that site. I realise that logged-on status affects the way the site is presented, as logged-off users see a flash site and logged-on users see a htlm5 site. But anyway - the names of the individuals should remain the same
As a non member of a tree you will not see full names on people/sites marked as private. For some unexplained reason some people becomes private without the knowledge of the site owner which is noted in an other thread.
Sorry, I presumed that by being logged on you also meant logged on and also a member of the tree. Did not read properly. If the user is not member of the tree, then in my mind it should not be any difference in appearence for a non member being logged on or not.
I have visited the site and even if I am logged on I see the site as a flash site and by that the persons are <Private>.
For me it is always the flash page I get when Im logged on. Even when browsing my own tree. Have never seen it as HTML5 and may depend on version of browser. I use Firefox version 18.0.2.
So the problem is if the site is shown as flash or HTML5.
Thank you very much - you hit the nail on the head. I've just had my profile changed to see the old flash version (even on my own site) - and now I can see the same as you can. The person appears as <Private> when in flash mode - but appears with full name when in html5 mode.
I hopeI can get the attention from the developers/support now
When people are members of a family site, and logged in under their invited email address, they will see the whole tree properly. If someone is a guest to the site - not logged into MyHeritage at all, or logged in under an email address that is not invited to the site, then they will see all living members of the tree marked as 'private'.
