I have the same problem as you. Very often the sex is the only thing the match has in common. In this way, It's only because I've so few people on my tree that I've got time to look at the matches.
Some times i get matches with sisters or brothers of a person in my tree, but I don't get match on the person him selves.
And other times the match is right, but it comes up twice, sometimes it is obwiesley that the other tree has the person in many writings, but it is not always so.
It was not like this when I started with MyHeritage.
Thank you for messages. A new mechanism for calculating Smart Matches is already in our developer's hands and is on the road map as part of Smart Matches improvements. This new mechanism will reduce the number of false positive matches you get. It's much more robust than our current system.
We are also looking at the possibility of allowing you to configure your matches to show only a certain percentage of quality. It means you will be able to say "I only want to see matches that are above 80%" and then you won't have to be bothered with all the other, lower quality matches. If we can add this feature relatively quickly we will.

That sounds great, I hope it will come up soon. I´m so tired of bad matches down to 19% ????????
In my case the matches are usually from people whose trees ( or part of them) are largely the same as mine. And often ALL the matches are correct matches, even to below 50 %. As often as not the matches that are incorrect are where a match is proposed with the wrong member of the family concerned, commonly where an infant has died and the next sibling of the same sex has been given EXACTLY, or nearly exactly the same name. So the only difference is maybe the date of birth and perhaps death. This seems to confuse the PROGRAM which seems to change some of my rejections to confirmations and vice versa.
So to me, as things stand, "low" quality" matches are often important to check. Geoff
Thank you. Good point. Yes, that is why our users will be able to check the Smart Matches under certain % and decide what they want to get. So, if you will know that the matches which are getting with 50% of accuracy are correct for you, you will be able to set up the % according to your needs. The majority of the cases with the matches under 50% are not correct. We hope we will be able to offer more accurate results.
