Is there a way to lock or mark data you know is certain?

I have several people in my family that I know for sure, either from Birth or Death Certificates, and I want to lock that data from accidentally being changed.  When I get smart matches it doesn't show anything special to remind me that the data is certain, so I am afraid I may change it accidentally.  Maybe if it were Bolded or shown in bright red, or even locked from possible change it would help.

I would like to be able to lock entries of people in my tree against being changed BY THE MYHERITAGE COMPUTER!  This can happen in Family tree Builder where two entries are very similar. For example in my tree, in the same family, I have children William Mullis, 1738-1738, and his brother who would have been named for the deceased infant, William Mullis, 1739-  ?  .

When I reviewed it yesterday MH had reversed maybe eight matches, previously confirmed or rejected. So I amended them. And I want to LOCK in these entries!  Geoff

Dear Athol,

Thank you for writing us regarding this matter.

I would like to point out that the matches that you confirm/reject will not affect any other matches that you confirm/reject. So the situation that you described sounds either like a bug or just duplicated matches that you think were reversed.

Please, let me know if you would like any additional information - we will appreciate it if you sent us an email instead of writing on this forum post to support@myheritage.com

Dear Roger,

Thank you for writing and we very much appreciate your suggestion, we will be sure to direct this to our developers and perhaps even get this feature in the future. I agree, this is very important - and a good tool to identify what should you change and what should you not.

This would also be helpful in managing trees and not only in the smart matching area. Not allow members to change very specific data that you are sure of will save a lot of trouble or atleast let them know it's an important fact that they are changing.

Kind Regards,

Daniel D.

I agree.

And I would like to be able to clearly mark the 'cards' or 'profiles'  of people in my tree if there is doubt about their existence or their place in the family tree, or important data. For example by a big green question mark as a watermark on the card or profile. With a 'note' section for entering information.

It would also be nice if we had the option of seeing how we got our data when doing smart matches.  (i.e. under each item such as dates or birth and death and places of birth and death) it showed 1. Birth Certificate, 2 Death Certificate, 3. WikiTree, 4. Smart Match, or 5. some other.  I call that an option because I'm sure not everyone is that detail oriented.
