One of the trees on my site, the McKinnon Tree has recently become totally jumbled and incoherent. Both FTB tree and Web Tree are the same as far as I can see. What has happened and what can be done to repair it.
I looked at the published version of your family tree and I wasn't able to see an apparent problem.
Can you help me investigate by letting me know when exactly the problem started and provide me with some names of people that are jumbled? Is it only the photos that are jumbled? Or also the relationships?
I have a copy of FTB on my desktop and have set up a second copy of FTB on my laptop, with the plan to do all my genealogy on the laptop as the desktop is getting old and slow. I transferred my trees from the desktop to the laptop and about 3 weeks ago noticed all these anomalies on the McKinnon site only on the laptop.
The Tree Consistency checker has picked them up showing 550 inconsistencies!
The offending tree shows Andrew Bryan Lindsay married to Ronald Johnathon Richard Read and shows his father as my son Luke Lindsay! There are many examples like this.
Can I just delete this tree and get a backup from you?
I also have a junbled tree. "Elliott Goffett Blanch Challenor Crompton Family Tree" on my Elliott Web Site. I have restored FTB from the on-line site but all that did was transfer the jumbled tree. With that tree having over 18000 people, what can I do other than start from scratch?
