Why is not possible to turn on and off left panel, like it was in old skin. What is the problem? Now is everything on minimum 6 click nonsense.
I want to see info about person with family tree together, not to do 6 CLICKS, yes 6 clicks(3 to marriage, 3 back) just to read MARRIAGE.
I have feeling that this Myheritage Family Tree is going not to user, but away from user. Have you even tested this rubbish?
Who has same opinion as me?
For example in new skin: I choose one person from family tree.... 3 clicks to event card... I am on event card, marriage was 1902,...When was born father of this person?..... 3 clicks back...Ah 1856... When had he divorced ? .... OH 3 clicks forward to his son... it is like in nuthouse = 9 clicks.
For example in old skin to get same informations: 1 CLick to left panel, there is marriage and everything else, also I see tree and know that father was born in 1856..
I totally agree. I was using e.g. comment fields a lot, it was very useful to see my notes just after one click on the person. Now it is a nightmare. Rhianna W. from MyHeritage replied already in another thread this (17 days ago), so I hope, it will be better soon:
You are not the only ones who weren't happy with the removal of the left side panel. We've seen that this is a very important feature of the online tree editor. The developers are currently in discussions about brining it back.
Nightmare is week word, I stop adding new information, until left panel will come back. Lets call the last myheritage update as Epic Mouse Patch or EMP. Cause on myheritage is peace and quiet like after EMP. I am betting click rate on myheritage is about 30 x more than before EMP. Cause everybody are searching and searching and searching....theirs own writen notes.
What is time frame for the left panel return? That is the question, I want to answer.
Removing the left panel is totally insensitive to the users and is passed down from MyHeritage with condescending remarks of change and progress. I am really disturbed by their attitude. Don't they have a quality control department?
The new web-layout of a tree needs serious re-thinking. The radar-bubble thingy is not making it any faster, in fact it is much worse. I hpe their asscociation with GENi maybe brings in some web better programmers.
You cannot show a tree of ~300 people like a tree of 20 people, like you were going no give it a nice printable layout. That is not the purpose of a large web-tree (to look printable).
I have suggested a hyper-links in the tree to navigate it faster.
The size scaling adjustment is has a range that varies from extremely large to incredibly illegibly small. Neither extreme has any use.
I saw a "tree" on Wikipedia of the English royal family that had a minimum of "white spaces". It deserves to be considered.
Adapting this program for a smart-phone is not a good idea at this point unless it can show 1600x1200 pixels, and comes with a microscope.
I am working as webdesigner / programmer and I understand the reasons why put something behind multiple clicks, this reason is advertisement, but here is none.
So I don't understand, why they put every important notes about each person in such amount of clicks.
Solution: Please, put an option "Turn Left Event Panel ON/OFF" to Settings(in right corner). In this case, you can keep the default setting of this option to OFF. But for those who are really interested in genealogy, it will be possible to work with your site. In case this option will be ON, it will be necessary, automaticaly put away first click to person, now first click opens persons card in center. First click in my scenerio, opens like old one, event card in lef panel.
Traffic: I doubt, that 6 clicks(3 reloads, 3 backs) are using less net traffic, as 1 click. So your servers need more power and capacity.
In the new online tree when you hover over a person or click on that person's card in the tree you get their basic information, rather than seeing it on the left hand side in a panel. This gives you a lot more real estate for viewing the family tree in context and it also shows you information about people in a more dynamic, integrated fashion. Before you had to click on each person in the tree to see their basic info, now all you have to do is move your mouse around to anyone and their info immediately pops up.

You get their basic information = only birth and death date. What about marriage, this is not basic?

I am not here for buying houses, or some fashion...but making genealogy., with new skin, it is impossible to do anything!

Pops birth and death:)))))) These two things are the most noninteresting thing, about each person.

To the time when back panel will be back, it is not possible to work with your software, as you know from other thread on this forum. It is clear to all of us, that you haven't do any testing of this rubbish. Second thing, your new rubbish skin, take me AWAY chance to do genealogy, CAUSE SEARCHING IN CZECH LANGUAGE IS NOT WORKING AGAIN!

Thx, good to know. But who give a damm about mobile or tablet? I haven't any of them, I have 2 computers...
I wanna see someone from my heritage team, to do some new tree with 7000 people, in this new shiny, masterpiece of ignorace. Of course, he have to write to each person his job, notes. And this person will be doing it to end of his time .... with about 1000 mouses killed by clicking :(
