Overwhelmed with SmartMatches

How do people with larger family trees deal with the volume of SmartMatches?  I don't like to say "yes" or "no" to SmartMatches without adding the new information from others to my tree.  Each match, therefore, takes time to deal with and now I'm getting up to 200 SmartMatches a day.  Does anyone have a strategy that allows a person to deal with the flow of information effectively?

I shouldn't complain about success, I suppose, but I'm feeling snowed under and I know other people are waiting for responses from me that I simply can't get to.

Hi,

I usually work with the matches under "On person". In that way I handle one peron at the time and can memorize his/hers data and can reject all matches that are definetly wrong. Then I take the remaining matches and view them as "Verify Match" and in the overview Tab I compare dates and places and reject the obvious wrong ones. Here I also can determin if it is a correct match. Then there is the rest. Now I go to the Compare Tree Tab and then I can compare the relatives data if they match. The key is that I have filled in as much data about each of my persons as possible so I dont have to look elsewhere.

Most problems I have are that people have not filled in all available data and seems to be satisfied with birth and death year and birth and death place as only the parish if anything.

I dont know how many matches I have unhandled but I have over 20000 matches that are confirmed by me and waiting for confirmation by others. I have 50 confirmed matches waiting for my handling which I find impossible to confirm/reject due to missing information. When I have many correct matches according to dates and places but wrong parents and siblings from a matching tree I have sometimes choosen to Ignore that matching tree due to lack of quality.

Hi Anders

That seems like a good way to work.  I guess I worry too much about all the SmartMatches in my email when I should work smarter instead.
