I invariably get duplication of spouses after merging Smart Matches. Is this a glitch in the program, or what is the cause of this. It is most inconvienent since I often only realise it's occurence after it has happened. When I delete one of the duplicates I must be very careful because by selecting the wrong duplicate I may lose all the couple's offspring which means I have to repeat the merging all over again.
However, it is my experience that even if one merges manually the problem persists, so your recommendation does not resolve the abberation.
Secondly, surely if one is given the choice to do the merging automatically the action should work without a problem. Otherwise you must seriously consider removing the selection.
I still maintain that this is an error in the program and you should look into it.
