Married to two brothers?

I have a situation where my grandmother was married to my grandfather (obviously), but -after his death- also married his brother.

How do I set this up in the online family tree? Or do I need the Family Tree Builder software for this?

best regards,

I don't know the answer but have a similar problem. I guess that you entered your grandmother and grandfather and his brother. Later you want to add the second marriage with a person (the brother) already existing in the tree. Right? And I cannot see that this software allows you to create a relation with an existing person in the tree. Catch 22...

My problem is two couples of brothers and sisters that married cross wise. One man to a woman, and this womans brother married the first mans sister.

I would say that the answer to our problems is the same, how to create a new connection/relation with an already existing person somewhere else in the tree???

Well, I found my solution in the Family Tree Builder. We cannot do any advanced edits in the web version. We must install Family Tree Builder.

See also thread "Correcting Links" by Mike Briercliife with answers, similar problems.

(A pity I can't refer to a certain thread number as new posts are added at the beginning, or refer to the http-link)

In the installed version you can edit relations in a more flexible way and choose already existing persons. Be it parents, spouses, children etc.

Okay, I'll install FTB and try to set it up there.

 Many thanks for your response.
