May 19:th 2012 i published a Family Tree, Gotland, on my webspace. I have a Premium account. Today, more than 4 months later I still have NO SmartMatches for that tree!!! That can NOT be possible as I have many names from that FamilyTree in my other published tree, Jackson 2011-12-30 and get lots of matches, also for persons i the Gotland tree.
The smart matches are generated when you make a change in your family tree and publish them to your website.
The data will then be compared with approximately 21 million other family trees at MyHeritage .
Due to the fact that this takes some time it will take 2-3 of days to collection of the data. Large family tree projects may take a week.
The smart matching technology is very dynamic.
It happens that in this "intermediate period" webmasters make changes in their family trees and
remove individual cards and even entire trees. The result is that you have received a message that you have a smart match, but that the data has been removed. The result is an empty smart match.
The smart match technology compares the matches according to certain standards such as gender, name, surname
birth year and death year. The data of the parents is compared as well.
There are matches of "lesser quality". This is also mentioned in your smart matches themselves - through percentages mentioned next to the match .
We try to improve the technology and our experienced programmers hope to refine the service over time.
So what you are saying is that there are NO matching done when I have uploaded my FamilyTree the first time? I have to upload it, make changes on my PC and upload it again before I can have any matches?
I do have to say that you have NOT answered my question at all, just telling me how your server handles matches.
Ok I'll do some changes in the trre and re-upload it and we will see what happens,
I`ve had that same problem for about a week now - All my smart-match disappeared both on my treebuilder and on my web-site. I used to resive about 15-25 e-mails pr. day with smart-matches, but now i don`t get any ?
And the new Record-match shows about 10 match - but when i open the record match there are none?
I really hope that MyHeritage can solve the problem - i don`t hope that i`ll have to re-build a new tree with over 7000 relatives.
I was wondering the same thing, although it's only been a week for me. But I kind of feel like I got ripped off because I upgraded to premium just for this purpose. My tree is on another genealogy website and it has hundreds of thousands of record matches, so I can't believe that the same tree here is not finding anything. I guess I'll just keep waiting.
Please note that for big trees as yours the Smart Matches might have a small 'delay' since they are recalculated and updated every time the person makes a change on his/her tree.
I have manually updated your smart matches, so if in 48 hours you still cannot see any Smart Matches, please contact me again.
