My plan has been to have family members contribute to my online family tree on myheritage.com. I thought I could periodically download a gedcom copy of the tree and import it into Family Tree Builder as a backup. However, when I just did such a download, I note that there are different profile photos for most individuals in the tree. Some of the photos in the online tree did not seem to get downloaded at all (particularly those associated with events) and that I now seem to have at least 3 and sometimes 6 copies of each of the photos that did get downloaded. The names associated with the photos are now meaningless computer-generated names. In the event that I ever did have to create a new online tree from the one I downloaded, I'd have to re-enter the title, place and time of each photo because the name is now useless.
I realize I can upload a copy of the tree directly from FTB but then it cannot be edited online. Please note that this is all with PremiumPlus membership and the latest version 6 of FTB. Any suggestions for a way to get a local copy of my online tree would be greatly appreciated.
I have had exactly the same problem. If I export a .gedcom file, the photos are put into another folder with meaningless titles and each would have to be renamed and downloaded back into my tree. My Heritage has been unable to give me a solution to this problem.
