Many countries like mine use accented letters. With MyHeritage it is a constant and major source of problems in particular when importing or exporting Gedcom files from/to other systems. Smart Matches seems to suffer a lot and works even more erratically and unexpectedly. Also, when maintaining a family tree like ours, where the people live in bilingual countries and most of the place information has to be given in two or more languages it is difficult and tiresome.
The problem is created by the presently used and severly limited letter coding system. For that purpose the Unicode system was developed which encompasses all the letters you could think of. Already several years ago senior members MyHeritage promised that all their systems would be converted to Unicode very soon now. Well, we are still waiting. What is the last information on the project?
