How do I delete unknowns? - Forums

I'd like to delete my mum's branch of the family and just focus on my dad's branch.

I've deleted it but it's then named unknown? How do I get rid of that completely?

please help me.

Hi Ronette :-)

It sounds like you have tried to delete someone by just deleting all the information within a record instead of deleting the record itself.

To delete a record (i.e. and individual) :-

Go to that person on the tree view, click EDIT->PERSON->DELETE PERSON and that should do it!

I have done all that and it doesn't work. I have three unkowns that seem to be tied together. The oldest ate the end of the string dio not have edit buttons the third does but since one of the unknown is shown as her mother it will not delete her either.

Thank you :) I did that. Just realised that if I wanted to delete the entire branch off my mum's side I had to start from the first generation and work my way down.
