Individual Picture on Tree
Rochelle
- Close

Good morning,

I'm having a problem with one of my individuals on my tree. They are being identified with the wrong picture and no matter what I do I can't correct the problem. If you open their record you can see the picture that is supposed to be identified for them. Could you fix it please.

Person: Sylvia Yvonne Spivey

Thank you and have a nice day!

Addendum: It would seem everyone in my tree is having problem with posting what picture they want to be identified with. Is there an easy solution that I can translate to everyone?

Regards,

Rochelle

I was having the same problem yesterday and I think I have a tempory solution.

I believe the problem is with the "tagging" feature. This feature is great, however as you start identifing members in photographs with mulitple people.. .  If you have any members without a photo icon, once the tag feature identifies someone in a photo as a member.... it will add that photo to that members list of photos and use it as an icon.

All your family members who want to change their icon will have problems figuring out how to replace it.  Hopefully this will be corrected or made less complicated by MyHeritage.

How I fixed my members photo icon:

  • I use modern tree view (can't figure out how to clear a photo using classic)
  • On the left side of the tree window are two tabs (LIST and PERSON) choose the person tab.
  • Clear the photo Icon at the top section by clicking on "Clear Personal Photo"
  • Now that the icon is clear, any picture you add or edit within that persons "Photos" section will replace the icon photo.
  • If you want to use an exsisting photo under the "Photos" section click on any photo, this should load and show all the photos for that member on the right hand side over the tree window.  Even the tagged ones will show up here. Make sure to retag any photos that should not be place under this member.   Now choose the photo you wish to use and edit that picture.  You don't need to do anything to it... just click on the "save changes" button.
  • You should now have that picture as your icon.
  • Another way is to clear the icon... then add a photo for that member.  It will use that new photo for the icon.  It will only work if the icon is clear prior to adding or editing.

Hope this works for you!

Good morning,

We're having the exact same problem.  I sure wish someone would repair this asap.  The name of my person who's being identified with the wrong picture is Robert Adam James. Thanks so much,  Debra
