Private in the family tree

Very often when I compare matches in my tree and other trees the box for the person is empty and contains only the word <Private> even if it's a person born 1730!!!! Why is that?

Also people tell me that my tree has those boxes! s far as I know I have NOT blocked any persons or blocked any information to be seen, or.......... have I missed something?

I'm having the same issue. Here no 38  Maren Pedersdtr has only <private> relatives:  http://www.myheritage.no/FP/tree-matches.php?s=128288961&familyTreeID=1&targetFamilyTreeID=17&targetSiteID=115007492&reviewMode=pending

But if I go into tree comparison I get up all of her relatives with full names. http://www.myheritage.no/FP/review-match.php?s=128288961&familyTreeID=1&individualID=1000747&targetSiteID=115007492&targetTreeID=17&targetIndividualID=17012467&comingFrom=treeMatches&listType=toConfirm&mode=compareTrees

As you maybe can see the persons have been dead for quite some time.

Hi Morten,

Thank you for writing to us.

I looked into this case, and it looks like a language issue. Your tree and site is in Norwegian, and the tree that you are matched with is in English.

Regards,

Aviv

I've noticed that as well if my research.  As for your tree, do you know if you selected the option to omit information of living people?

There is no "option" to omit info on living people. That doesn't show up at all.
