I've uploaded a video I've encoded to mp4 and looks nice and clear.
However after publishing it playback on my family site is not as good. The transitions get a lot of blocking in it. A screenshot comparison of the source video and the online video can be viewed here http://i.imgur.com/IfLU1.jpg
Does MyHeritage 'reencode' the video that is uploaded ?
Firstly, I'm paying for extra space so there should at least be an option to not have video file size reduced.
Transcoding video for members utilising a free account I totally accept, but not those paying for their space.
Also, there is a 50MB size limit for videos, both mine were 25MB each or less, if I recall correctly. Why resize these ? Perhaps just do those that exceed the 50MB allowance.
I hope the option is considered to leave content untouched. Transcoding already heavily compressed video is never the ideal solution which is why I always start with the post edit DV output when creating videos for upload.
