"Forcing" a relationship between people after they have been added to the tree?

There have been a number of ocassions where I have added people to the tree with a parent and at a later stage added another parent only to find that they are not seen as siblings and/or their parentage is unlinked. How can I 'force' a link? I'd rather not have to delete the people and re-input all the data again.

Hi, In order to change a wrong relationship, I would suggest deleting one of the partners/spouses and then re-adding them again and this time putting in the correct relationship. To delete a person: You can click on the plus sign in the middle of the profile, and you will be given many options to add profiles or to edit the existing profile. You will also be given the option to delete that person. Please make sure that there are no children attached to a person that you would like to delete. I understand if this is frustrating for you because, for example, there may be persons "high up" in the tree that you need to delete and it would mean deleting a lot of children in order to get to him/her. The best thing to do is EDIT the information on that person if you can rather than trying to delete him/her altogether. If you are working on your family tree in the modern view, you can press on the father's profile and press add. One of the options will be to add a partner and you can add the father's first wife. You can then add children to that also. Afterwards, you can press add again on the father's profile, and you can press 'add another spouse' to add his second wife. To that, you can also add children. You can add as many spouses and children as you wish. I hope that this helps! Best Regards, Esther /MyHeritage Team
