Confirmation reminder

When we send a reminder to a person to confirm start matches, does the reminder go to their email, or just make some sort of comment on their site? If they have ignored trees for any smart matches they get, do they still get the reminder? It would be nice to know exactly what is going on with them one way or another as to why they are not confirming.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for writing to us.

If you confirm a Smart Match, the other site manager will receive an email regarding this. However, if he decided to ignore your tree, he will not receive this message.

Regards,

Aviv

My guess is that they do not respond because----- they are no longer active and the tree or site is defunct!.

But that is just a hunch based on the many reminders I have sent. I pndered about what hapened and your question on this forum exactly depicts my question- But I think defunct is the real anwser.

What do you think Mr HERIATGE management.

I wish it were that easy. That applies to many of them and I have tried to ignore those so that they are no longer on the record, but I have a lot of matches with trees which are recently updated as well as premium.

I have 407 family trees with over 1900 individuals, that I have confirmed.  Non of these have been reconfirmed and they are still on my web site.

How do we delete them from the site.????

I think there is a way to disable smart matching completely. You can also ignore any partucular tree that you are matched with. If you want to ignore a tree that you've already confirmed the matches on, go back and unconfirm one of the matches. Then go back to the pending matches tab and click ignore tree. Also make sure that the trees you have matched are not basic(basic members are unable to confirm), or it's been a long time since a tree was touched, which to me indicates that the person is unlikely to come back and confirm smart matches. I was ignoring all trees not touched since before 2011. I've now moved it up to March 2011.

I'm not so sure it's that simple either.  I am retired and spend a little time every day on my tree, saving any changes and publishing a couple of times a month.  I have confirmed hundreds and hundreds of matches, but seldom get any response from the other sites.  Sometimes I get an email notice that I have matches to confirm, but sometimes, when I go into my site I find pending matches that I was never notified about by email.  I'm not sure that they've worked out all the bugs in their program.  It certainly doesn't work consistently in the same way all the time!

I have confirmed hundreds and hundreds of matches, but seldom get any response from the other sites.

That's typical, and infuriating.I currently have almost 8,000 matches that I have confirmed, but others haven't. That's after ignoring a lot of duplicates, old trees, and basic accounts.
