I just realized that if I type in a name from my family tree onto a search engine such as google my picture will come up. Is there a way that I can prevent this from happening? I do not want my picture and name available online for anyone to see and there are other members of my family that feel the same way.
I did a google search for your name as you have explained and your member profile page came up in the serach I went into the page and there was no picture of yours. If you indeed did have a picture on your profile then it would have showed up on the message baord also with your post but it does not show up.
Have you removed your picture since then?
What does happen though 's when one goes to your profile page they see a listing of your sites and on the sites they can see pictures and your tree. If you do not want to make this available then you need to change your privacy settings.
To change your privacy settings go to myheritage.com log in and then go to Settings>Privacy and choose Private this way only members of your site will be able to see your site. Please do this for both of your sites.
