Sharing Site Manager Role

Hi I started our family Tree several months ago and we have 20 site members (family and one related guest) and 330 plus names in our tree. Is it possible to share or have more than 1 site manager? I saw in setting that it is possible to ID a different site member as the 'Go To' for geneolgy stuff and one managing the site! I am lucky to have 2 site members who have many years of research experience for our family lines can I change their status to Site Managers as well i.e. have 3 site managers for the same family tree?

Hi Brian,

Thank you for writing to us.

It is possible to add as many site managers as you want to your site.

Here is an FAQ explaining how to do this:

Can I add someone as a Site Manager of my site?

Best Regards,

Lior

Hi Chandra,

Thank you for writing.

When you create the family site, you become the Site Manager and Creator of the site.

You are considered the creator of the site and you will always be the one to receive notifications regarding changes or updates at MyHeritage, promotions and discounts on your family site and emails such as Smart Matches and Records Matches notifications.

It’s also possible to promote any of your family site members to Site Managers.

But what privileges do Site Managers that you promote actually have?

Promoted Site Managers are allowed to change the settings in the Site Settings menu (except for the My Privacy settings).

They can turn off sending calendar alerts and newsletters to other site members. They can set what content other site members can view on the site and add to the site. They can do things like change the name of the site or the site URL. Check the Site Settings section of the family site to see what can be configured there.

Promoted Site Managers can promote other family site members to become Site Managers as well.

If you have a large community of family site members, it can help to have more than one Site Manager so that your members will know they have more than one point of contact if they have questions.

Please also see the following FAQ post:

What privileges do my site members have?

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Kind regards,

Lior
