When trying to run a Book Report it gets as far as "Cross-referencing Notes" (about half way through according to the progress bar) and just hangs. If I choose to not include notes in the initial report options it actually completes ok.
Including the notes when printing this same project has worked ok in the past - it has only started misbehaving sometime in the last month or so..
Presumably... there is something dodgy in some of the notes data. My question is, is there a fix for this, and if not how do I find out which of the thousands of note fields in this project that its having a problem with (so I can remove/correct them)?
Unfortunately I've added/changed a lot of notes recently, some of which are large-ish, but no bigger than some that existed when it still worked ok. Regardless I spent some time trying to track these down and abbreviate or remove them. End result was it didnt make any difference.
Then I found this page: http://www.tcgr.bufton.org/tcgphist.htm and grasping at straws removed a couple of instances of notes that contained chevron characters («») and it started working again!
I guess... that means the current version of FTB doesnt have the latest fixes available for The Complete Genealogy Reporter. Is there some way to apply these fixes or do I just need to wait until they are incorporated into the FTB updates?
You are right, FTB doesn't include all recent fixes and updates in The Complete Genealogy Reporter. It is planned to be updated in the future. If you are interested in the full, most updated version of this program, you can also purchase it from their site.
