Allow web modifications to be sent back to FTB

I like many people use FTB to maintain my Family Tree.  I then publish it onto the web.  If you use this method then no one can make changes to the web version.

It would be great if they could make changes and then have these "suggested" changes come back to FTB (via the publish interface).  Then in FTB have a list of these changes received and allow them to be selectively applied or rejected to the FTB database.

In FTB you could even show a person had some pending "web" changes with an icon similar to smart matches or research icons.

At the moment people send me emails which is not very efficient.

Hi Steven,

We are working to improve the synchronization between the Family Tree Builder program and your family site,

and to improve the controll a site manager has for the information added by his site members.

I can understand that adding your site members' information manually in the Family Tree Builder is not the best way to collaborate, so please let me know if you prefer to edit your tree online, in your site for now (you can always return to the Family Tree Builder).

Thank you for your new feature suggestion; We value your input greatly and have already implemented many of your ideas at MyHeritage.

Best regards,

Shani

MyHeritage team

I agree with Steven completely.I too operate the same way.I would love it that site members could edit and add information at the website, but that notification would come back to me to approve or disapprove, before adding to FTB.

I`m sure this was suggested by other users back in the 1999.

In addition, sending back web info to FTB for Smartmatches confirmed could be included in scope if possible, as today, you have to repewat this task twice, once on the web, once in FTB, or I'm doing something wrong.

Hi Shani,

I definitely want to use FTB to edit my website and I understand why in that case you currently don't allow members to update via the web version.  I'm just saying it would be nice to have the option to receive update requests from the web back to FTB so I can include/merge if I choose.

I look forward to seeing the interface improvements in the future.

Thanks Steven

I agree with Steven, a feature like that would faciliate the updates and growth of the tamily tree. We are more than one genealogist in our family and it would be great if we could cooperate via the Family site even though we prefer maintaining the tree from the FTB.

Kind regards, Emelie

We are working on this project and it will become available in the future.

It's a really big project, so be patient with us. We'll get it out as soon as we can.
