It's been a few years since I tried the My Heritage Family Tree Builder software, and I must say I'm impressed with the improvements that have been made. I'm not impressed, however, with discovering after installing the update that you'd hijacked my browser home page and replaced it with your own. That kind of stuff makes me wary of using your software for fear that you feel free to mess with other parts of my computer as well. So... thanks for the offer, but no thanks.
In order to change the browser home page, go to Tools > Options / Internet Options (both on Internet Explorer and Firefox) and there you will have to option to change the homepage.
Just had the same thing happen to both my Internet Explorer and Firefox. I'm an IT professional and can undo this pretty easily but what was once a company I liked alot and had alot of respect for several years ago seems to dabbling in some of the worst of the internet business practices lately.
Not once was I ever asked to "opt in" to having my browser settings modified. This is reprehensible behavior and unless things change for the better I'm probably not going to renew my premium data subscription.
Please note that next time when you install Family Tree Builder, you can avoid installing the toolbar that comes with it, by choosing Custom Install in the Setup Options page and turning off the toolbar and the change of homepage.
