Smart Matches Invites to family Tree Auto Adding

There seems to be a system glitch tied to the smart match option to invite someone to join your site.  I'm not entirely sure but it seems that if you send someone an invitation half the time they get auto added to your site.

Just today I was contacted by a man (he was a bit rude, but nevermind) who said that he and his aunt had been added to my site without their permission.

I myself seem to have been added to a couple sites without my permission.

The man who contacted me gave me two days to delete him and his aunt from the site (again, rather rudely) from the site.  It took me a few minutes to figure out if it could be done since I haven't done it before but I managed and did so.  What irks me is that he threatened to contact MyHeritage unless I did so in two days nevermind he and his aunt could have left my site theirselves).

I just don't want myself or other people to get into a tiff with MyHeritage because of something like this if people do report a site for getting added to it.  Can you look into this?

Hi Danika,

Thank you for writing to us.

I am sorry for the confusion. Let me explain:

When you add someone to your family site, they automatically become a member of the family site.

You can remove this member by going to Home > Site Members, and next to the name you will see the option. They can also remove themselves from a site that they do not wish to be a member of, by going to MySites (on the top right of your screen, when you are properly logged in). There you will see a list of all the sites that you are the site manager of, and a member of. Locate the site that you no longer wish to be a member of, and click on the small 'x' in the corner. That will remove yourself from the site.

Best Regards,

Esther / MyHeritage Team
