Smart Matching - Please stop it - it's too embarrasing for you to do so poorly

Would you please stop all smart matching. It's is very embarrasing to witness the results.

I just got at smatmatch today - Ane Margrethe Christiansdatter matched to unknown in an other family tree. Any genealogist will point the Thumb down on this one.

Ana Cathrine Jørgensdatter matched to Anna Hansen in another century.. The list goes on.

Eighter stop this smartmatching or get a grip.

Really - it's too embarrasing to wittnes one hopeless match after the other. Spare us.

 Anne.

I agree, Smart Matching is really a very dumb matching indeed.

I have got hundreds of matching suggestions, all of them very far fetched. It seems to match two people even if they have different birth dates, born in different places and different last names!

This is really embarrasing for myheritage, especially since most other functionality of the site and the software is reasonably good.

I've been doing research off and on for almost 20 years. I've even gone to the Mormon's Family History library in Utah. I'm amazed at how many matches your program has found for me. Agreed, some are far fetched, but when you look at the report and see how many matches exist in one tree, you can narrow it down. Just last night alone, I found 4 trees (out of about 40 possible matches) that had EXACT matches and a LOT of additional information. Keep up the great work! With old fuzzy records it may take a little more time to find your true matches, but it's worth it!

Thanks for a great web site!

CoolI agree. Smart Matches are a necessity in this line of work. Some fine tuning may be required as I'm confident it will come. Try searching for some information yourself as I'm doing and its hard work trying to find even the smallest bit of info. Just today I got a match. I must admit it could be had by making a phone call but the connections are right there onsite.

Keep up the great work and thanks again.

Jim
