When I invite a new female member to my site the email sent out uses their maiden name.
In the invite member list the name is shown correctly but the email to the person is incorrect and from then on the site refers to the person using their maiden name not their married name.
It does not happen for every woman so I did some checking and it appears to be for woman who have got devorced. In this case it appears MyHeritage assumes the woman is now using her maiden name which is not correct unless she changes her name back legally. FTB shows the correct married name for these woman.
I found another situation where the names are incorrect.
If 2 people are listed as partners in FTB i.e. they were never married then when published the woman is shown with per partners surname.
Have the developers made any progress on these name bugs? I get emails every week from woman in my tree asking for their surname to be corrected and I can't fix it.
There are many examples I can give where the web site does not match what FTB shows.
Create a couple and mark them are "partners". Add a child. Add a "divorced" event.
In FTB it shows the mother with the correct name. On the web it shows her with the fathers surname ?????
If you change the "divorced" event to "separation" then it shows correctly.
So using divorced somehow tricks it to think the people were at one stage married which they were not.
But the problem is the publishing between FTB and the web site. All the names show correctly in FTB but there are a number of problems on the website.
The persons name is showing correctly on the web account but incorrectly when emails are sent or in the family news entries that refer to her.
e.g. The person had a birthday and the news item said "aaaaaaaa bbbbbbbb (born cccccc) turned 44" . She never changed her name to bbbbbbbb so it should have just said "aaaaaaaa cccccc turned 44".
I made a mistake when inviting two of my brothers. Used wrong emailadress once and now one of my brothers are showing up with wrong name but right image in members page. Have tried to remove the person showing up incorrectly and the invite him again, but the error is the same.
