I've tried everything I know... reloading FTB, upgrading to Premium Plus, cleansing my computer, reloading Norton 360 - nothing helps. Please give this your utmost attention. Consider sending a hardcopy of FTB.
Hi, Thank you for writing to us.
Please close Family Tree Builder on your computer.
Then go to your Windows desktop, and click on the START orb Type system in to the search box there. Then Click on System to open it. Click on Advanced System Settings. Under Performance, Click on Settings. Then Click on Data Prevention Execution. Click on ADD Then Browse till you find MyHeritage which is in the BIN file in you Program Files where you have FTB installed Double Click on MyHeritage, Click that file so that it appears in the box File Name box Then Click open and it should appear in the Exception Box with a tick in the square alongside the name of the program, then APPLY and OK everything and you will find that FTB should work fine in Vista.Best Regards, Esther / MyHeritage Team
I observed the RAM performance (CRTL-ALT-DEL) and noted that when normal I was using about 1.3gb. As the problem developed, RAM usage increased by about 300 kb every four seconds or so. This would lead me to believe that the auto-save function is doing a 'save as' function. At one point, there was a sudden decrease in RAM usage by about 1.5 gb. When RAM uses reaches just over 3 gb (I have 6 gb installed) FTB crashes. Hope this helps.
Doug.
Sorry Esther that fix doesn't work. FTB still crashing.
Sorry for the delay, but the Beta5 is an improvement so I spend more time researching and building. The program still crashes, though not as frequently. The auto-save helps and constant manual saves helps.
