It seems that MyHeritage considers Russian last names e.g. Tsvetkov and Tsvetkova (Цветков / Цветкова) to be two different names. (observed in Statistics page). Actually, in Slavic languages these are male and female forms of the same name: female - with added "a" at the end. Ivanov / Ivanova, Petrov / Petrova etc. are the same last name, "a" at the end just indicates the sex of the person.
Can you please fix this in Family statistics? I would appreciate to know more which last names were held by people in my family.
Another important thing: in my family tree I have people from Russia, UK, Ukraine and Georgia, which means that there are at least 3 alphabets in use for correct spelling of their names. I would like to share my family tree with the relatives from various countries, but not all of them are capable to read different languages / alphabets. I would really appreciate if MyHeritage developpers could introduce a double language spelling of the names (so I could write them e.g. in English and Russian in the same profile: Anna Tsvetkova / Анна Цветкова). This will also let me find connections in other peoples family trees much easily - as I never know if my potential relatives spell their names in Russian or English.
We currently don't support Slavic name formats - although you are not the first person to request that we add support for them. The developers will consider adding support for them in the future.
As for dual language capabilities, it is possible to build your tree in more than one language (and host it online) using our family tree software, Family Tree Builder. www.myheritage.com/ftb
However, Family Tree Builder trees cannot be edited online at this point in time. Please take this into consideration before making any changes.
You can always export a GEDCOM file of your tree and test it out in Family Tree Builder before committing to anything. In order to export a GEDCOM, go to your family site and click on Family Tree > Manage Trees.
