Had 248 members, added a sibling, and the site automatically added parents, updating the member number to 251 and locking me out of the free Basic plan,. Now I am unable to access and update any info in my family site. Such a stoopid site construction. Does anyone have a solution other than upgrading my plan?

Let me understand this completely, because if it's true they are totally screwing you, though probably not intentionally. First, you added a sibling to someone who was already on the tree with existing parents, and they automatically added the parents again? Second, you can no longer access your tree without upgrading?
Assuming the first, but not the second, it might depend on how the sibling was added. I know there are several ways of doing this like adding a sibling to a person vs adding a son or daughter to the person's parents. I think both probably achieve the same thing, although their system may not recognize it as such. If they have locked you out without letting you change things first, or at least warning you, then you have legitimate complaints that you need to speak with someone about.
