As far as my knowledge, currently with FTB, we cannot extract the fields which we intend to explore. For instance, If I need to get information on date, place of all deceased, within generation-X to generation-Y, its not possible. Another instance would be to extract name, DOB, place information of bachelor/spinster who are alive.
Proposal: Provide GUI for user to write his own query to FTB data base and fetch the information. Something similar to advance search engines (Example SQL query: SELECT name, dob, place FROM db WHERE dod IS NULL and married='single';). It is advisable to make use of edit fields, which will be easier for laymen to select the field names or operators instead of typing. May be later the extracted info can be exported to Excel sheet/ dat file/ or even doc file.
Please let me know if this feature is already available. If yes, please ignore and delete this posting.
Can any one tell me if such a feature is available in FTB.
Warm regards,
Chethan

In Family Tree Builder 5.0 (Very soon to be released) you will have an option to generate a custom report, selecting the fields and people you would like. This report will be exportable and editable in Excel.
I think this will very much pleased your necessities.
I have downloaded the latest FTB 5.1. Could you please let me know if this feature is available in it. If so could you please give me the link for using the above feature.
