I've spent the afternoon doing some extensive additions to my family tree, and came across a situation I can't figure out how to resolve. Basically, incest. [I'm not blood-related to the incident, my mom was adopted! :)]
Apparently back in the late 1700s/early 1800s, one of my "relatives" had a bunch of children, as usual. I entered only one of them and followed his line down to a certain point, before working from that point backward again to enter the other "side" of the family. I eventually got to a man who was ALSO the son of that first distant relative. So basically, his two sons went off and got married and had kids and grandkids etc, until the great-great-etc grandkids from the two lines got married to each other. Does that make sense?
So... is there a way I can connect the other son to the father, even though they were entered separately?
In the Family Tree Builder Right click on the child you want to attach to the parent to, a list will open, point to parents then click attach parents. This will open the people list for you to select the parent to attach to the child and will show in the tree when published. I hope this helps.
