I am quite concerned how public the data on my family tree is. Many companies use birth date as a key identifier. I also use my mothers maiden name. How can I keep the data of my family tree more confidential? Smart matches seem to violate that confidentiality.
The level of privacy you keep is definitely up to you, but I thought you might like to know that MyHeritage.com is designed to be a place for collaboration between our members. Most users enjoy the prospect of receiving Smart Matches to help build their trees. Many users have also made contact with relatives they never knew about through Smart Matches.
I agree with the feature of Smart matches. What I think I will do is turn it off most of the time and only turn it on occasionally. I will also read the other FAQ. I did a search on security but found nothing.
