No answer from anyone here... but I reinstalled and the program didn't get deleted. I will be sure to backup my projects just in case. Like the software - started adding pictures. Hope it will continue to be good for my needs since its free :)
my computer is doing this to and if i reinstall it it works while i have that window open but when i close it and reopen it it crashes again. Not sure how to fix it and i dont plan on reinstalling it everytime i want to use it. I guess I will be buying one after all.
If you use Vista, try logging in as Administrator and see if that makes a difference.If you still have troubles, you can uninstall and then reinstall the program. When you reinstall save the .exe file anywhere EXCEPT in Program Files. There are known issues with privileges in Vista which affect many programs (not only Family Tree Builder) and one easy work around is to save the program in a different place on your computer rather than in Program Files.
Uninstalling and reinstalling will not affect your family tree as the tree itself is saved as a separate file on your computer in MyDocuments/MyHeritage/name of tree/DatabaseLet me know if this information helps you?
