Embed html for google maps or how to get a better reference?
Steven Thomas

Hi,

Just wondered how I can make the Google maps feature more accurate I live in the UK and after adding information about the whereabouts of my wedding using full address and postcode on the personal page of my Wife or myself, the little question mark that shows a Google maps reference is slightly inaccurate, whereas if I go onto the Google maps site it gets it spot on, does anyone know how to get this spot on? I tried embedding the html code that links to the reference exactly but it does not work, any other ideas any other code I can use to embed or anyway to link to a Gmaps account?

Many Thanks

Hi Steve,

MyHeritage.com is using a service provided by Google to embed a map programatically and call it's geocoding service. Unfortunately, the geocoding results (geographic location of an address) that the service provides is sometimes inferioir to the result you will get on maps.google.com.

We hope that Google will improve their service to thrid parties like us to be up to par with their own site.

Hi,

Has there been any progress in this regard?  Map locations still are way off in some cases in my tree.

Thanks

I have forwarded your query to our FTB programmers to check for updates with the improvement of the maps.

We will update you regarding this matter.
