Hey there, must have made an initial error somewhere. I've uploaded a family tree and I can view it perfectly. However, I sent the link to someone who is in the tree, but does not have an account on myHeritage, and he can see the tree structure, but everything is said to be private..
Is there a way I can make the entire site viewable by anyone??
Guests, i.e., the general public; guests are not allowed to add content and are usually limited too with respect to the content they are allowed to see on your family site.
If you are not logged on, and you are a guest to the site, each page on the Web site will say “Welcome, Guest” and many names in your family tree will show up as <Private>. This is actually a feature to protect your privacy, that’s why you must log on to have all the names displayed properly.
In order for your members to be able to see and edit your family tree properly, you have to invite them to be members of your family site. To do so, go to Home > Invite more family. If they are not on that list, just scroll down to the bottom of the page, and choose to invite them manually.
If you would like to allow someone to view your family tree in its entirety, you should invite that person to become a member of your family site.
Persons who are non-members will see first names of living people in the tree as "<private> last name". We do this to protect sensitive information about living people in the tree.
Hello and thanks for the comment. I think I see how it works now. I thought there was something wrong with the way I had set it up. I think I was confused because there is a setting on the information page that says you can hide the info. Having not done that, I was a bit confused.
I think its working fine and thanks for taking the time to comment.
