I have uploaded my gedcom file (which I created from my family tree and "Imported" it via the Import Gedcom link on the Family Tree page) but I cannot edit it online? I cannot find any options to edit the gedcom tree online?? How do I edit my gedcom tree? Where do I go to edit it?
Please help, I have posted several queries on how to edit my gedcom tree but so far have received no answers. Please forgive me, and don't take this as a complaint, it isn't, It's just that I've seen your above message and am now trying, in vain, to edit the file.
I am having the same problem and I did not want to publish the tree on my computer software it did it and did not let me choose a GED file or something else. How dod I change this?? And how do I delete things from the family trees I have deleted people and they still sort of show up with no name.
In order to start editing your family tree, move your mouse over one of the green or orange person cards in the tree.
You should see two little icons appear. One looks like a little pencil and one is a blue 'i'.
Clicking the little pencil icon will bring up the edit details window. In this window you can change first/last name, email address, gender, date of birth/death.
The little blue 'i' icon is the information icon. This will bring up information about a person in the left hand side of the screen. It will change the List View (on the left where you see the list of names of people in your tree) to Person View (which shows details about a specific person).
In Person View there are also some options to allow you to add details such as photos and facts, partners or to delete a person.
I've attached a screenshot to give you a better idea where to look.
I hope this information will get you started. If you have more questions, let me know.
