Not sure if this helps but there is a link at the (almost) top left of the screen that changes the smart matches from family trees to individuals. They are not in alphabetical order but it helped me to look through 240 individuals rather than the huge numbers of family trees that matched. Hope this helps some,although I agree that if I can't search for one individual the use of the smart matching is diminished.
My problem is that other family members have been adding information, so I imported the gedcom files, and now have 2 wives with the same name (I tried attaching one of the repeated files for her), and her family appears 3 times in my main gedcom. Family Tree Legends allowed me to merge individuals, and I tried doing this last month, but something in My Heritage is blocking my efforts...
How can I do Smart Matching within my own GedCom???
