Searching in CZECH language NOT WORKING
Stanislav Řábek
- Close

I'm mailing with your support team from 6.1.2010 and  I'm glad that your team, had listen my issues about special czech letters in searching in Genealogy center.

[Ticket#2010010510000602] Czech letters in search [Czech] [P11]

Now can Czech a Slovak users use their native language to search letters ĚŠČŘŽŇŤ for imagination, NOT :)) Still it didn't find me or anyone else who is starting with these letters. For example I and half of my family not exist :((((

I try just now to search my name without diacritic: stanislav rabek and ..... I'm not. With diacritic ... I'm not.

It doesn't work  here too:

So it is nice like Esther from your theme wrote me in email: I have sent your request on to one of our senior programmers, who is working on fixing this issue.

So this is not FIXING ISSUE, this is tottaly ignoring of 1/4 names of all czech Family trees!

Hi Stanislav,

Thank you for wriitng to us.

We have updated this feature since your request, and the MyHeritage Search page, and the Genealogy search now support foreign language characters.

I have done a search on your name in the MyHeritage Search, and it looks like your full name is not in our database.

I did get results when I searched stanislav and then řábek separately.

I hope that this helps!

Best Regards,

Esther / MyHeritage Team

Hi Stanislav,

Thank you for writing to us.

I am searching on that exact page.

Please note that we don't show ANY living individuals found in the search, for privacy reasons.

Best Regards,

So why is it not writen in the page this note, instead of it are there NONSENSE like:

  • Connect with the long-lost nephews and nieces, THIS NOT POSSIBLE, cause privacy polici
  • Start search over all genealogical pedigrees website MyHeritage.com, NOT CORRECT , NOT OVER ALL, but only dead over all you can find
  • Find other members conducting research into the same families as you,THIS NOT POSSIBLE, cause privacy polici
So there are 3 senteces, which anyone of them is NOT TRUE :))))

I hope that somebody don't delete my post, like my pre-previous one.

Hi Stanislav,

I am sorry that we do not perform searches in our databases on living individuals.

You can, however, find other relatives by finding a site of people that you think are related to you, and then using the 'contact site manager' link.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,

Esther / MyHeritage Team

I understand why it is right so. But than will be better to add 4 sentes something like this:

We do not perform searches in our databases on living individuals, beacuse we obey Privacy policy.

So, where is my dead grandgrandfather Bohumil Řábek, I'm searching and nothing came(with or without special characters).

So something is not right in Genealogy search with czech.

CZECH SEARCHING IS STILL NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!

  1. Try to find Aloisie Probst(list of 2 womens came, one of them is in my tree), so you are display peoples in my tree
  2. Try to find Bohumil Řabek, Rabek, Rábek, rabek, rábek, řabek and you will see that, MY FAMILY IS NOT IN ANY OF 7 PAGES OF THE SEARCH RESULT!!!!!

You have obviously BUG with encoding special character in search string.

Any news about this ?

Hi Stanislav,

Thank you for writing to us, and I apologize for the delay.

We fixed the bug with the accents, and you can now find all names with/without accents in the Genealogy center.

However, we do still have restrictions in place to not show any living individuals in the Person search in the genealogy center. This is why you cannot find those people from your tree, as they are living.

Best Regards,

Esther / MyHeritage Team

Hi Stanislav,

Thank you for writing to us.

I have investigated this issue further, and it appears that this is indeed a bug, and names that are stored with accents cannot yet be searched for in the Genealogy Center.

We will do our best to work on a solution to this for the near future.

Best Regards,

Esther / MyHeritage Team

So first contact with your team, about not working search in Czech language was 6.1.2010. Now we have 19.3. and czech search is still not working.

What we have to do, we means czech and slovak users. I'm starting be really angry, cause, since I both your premium account, I not able to use it. I'm paying for something that doesnt work properly. 1/10 our my money is gone, and I'm still not able to find anyone with my name ....

So it will be another month or what? Or should I write some email, to managment, about it, I don't know....
