I have an empty familiy album that I can't delete. It says that the album cannot be deleted and that only the photos in it will be deleted. How can I get rid of it? Thanks.
That sounded promising. However, I'm afraid I had the same message. Album cannot be deleted. I've tried to add photos again and then to delete it again, but that didn't help. Fortunately I can make the album invisible for guests, but I would like to do that for members as well. Any more sugesstions? Thanks again.
I tried to check your site to see what the issue was. Unfortunately, there are no longer any photos at all on your site?
I have a feeling that the album you were trying to delete was the album which is automatically created when you publish your family tree with photos from Family Tree Builder.
If you publish from Family Tree Builder and there are photos in your tree, an album named Family Tree Photos is created. This album indeed cannot be deleted.
However, there are alternative ways to preventing your members from seeing photos:
If you don't want photos from your family tree to be published on your family site, use Advanced Settings in the Publishing menu in Family Tree Builder to publish without photos. (Or build your tree in Family Tree Builder without photos)
If you want to have photos on your family site, but don't want your members to see your photos, go to the Settings > Content menu on your site and hide the Photos&Videos page.
If you want to make a single album private and viewable by you only, go to Photos&Videos > FIND and click on the album to view it. Then click on Edit Details. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and in section "3. Scope" uncheck the DEFAULT box. Change the album setting to "Personal (me only)".

It doesn't appear that the option to set an album as "Personal (me only)" exists anymore. Is that true?
Indeed, I saw the photos were gone. I can remember I did an upload from FTB without the photos. This probably causes them to be deleted rather than to be synchronized. I understand my mistake now.
After a second upload from FTB, now with the photos and albums, I had two albums with the same photos. I now deleted the second album and renamed the one I've had problems with yesterday. This worked fine. It now looks great again: http://www.myheritage.nl/site-photo-albums-71894601/visscher
The thing that confused me was that there are several ways to organize my albums and photos: directly on the web, via FTB or both (which I found out to be rather risky). That won't happen to me a second time.
