My tree's got roughly 14K people in at and, lately, I've found that there are quite a few duplicate entries (the same people showing up more than once in the tree). I've had to go through the entire tree deleting duplicate entries and, at 14k people, it takes a while.
Is it possible for the the Family Tree Builder to notify you if the person you're about to enter into the tree already shows up.
How do you delete duplicate people? I read to click the plus sign below the name, but deleting the person is not an option there? Thanks!

At this point in time we have no mechanism in place to prevent members from adding the same person in the tree more than once. It is a great suggestion. Thank you for your idea!
What you can do is before you add the individual, to sort the name list, on the left under either first or last name, in order to see if they are already in the tree.
Thank you for your reply. Too late, I didn't realize it, but when I printed a report noticed I have at least three that I've added twice. So, now aggravated that I can't delete the entries. AARRGGHH! :)

I see that your tree on your site was published from Family Tree Builder.
In order to delete duplicates in that tree, just go back to the original tree in Family Tree Builder, and find any duplicates by sorting the name list, on the left under either first or last name, in order to see if they are already in the tree, and then remove any extra individuals.

The notification feature is all right with me. But I don't hope you are going to prevent it. Sometimes it can be necessery to enter duplicate names in the tree.
