"Clear Personal Photo" Link not there!

Hi

Has anyone had an issue where the "Clear Personal Photo" option doesn't appear when trying to change someone's photo? Dave

Are you having this problem in Family Tree Builder or in the Family Site?

for which individual?

In the Family site, tree Moorbys and, as far as I can tell, for all. 

 There just is no link to clear personal photo it would seem!

Hi Dave,

You cannot change a tagging that was made in Family Tree Builder,

in the Family Site.

open your project in the program, and make the change there.

To try and help demonstrate, I have attached a couple of screen shots.

the "from_web" file, is a screenshot showing a personal image for John Leslie-Moorby that I want to change. 

The "from_software" file is a screenshot showing the same person in builder software - as you can see, no image. This tree was downloaded after the image was added on the site. 

FYi, the image was added automatically as a personal photo after I tagged John Leslie-Moorby in a photo in one of the albums I uploaded.

Ok, slighty confused then because I added the photos on the site, rather than the builder - also, the instructions advise to use the site.

Also, have downloaded the tree from the site and opened in the builder software and there are no personal images coming up against the names.

If the tagging was made online,

go to the Photos and Videos page,

go to the relevant personal album,

click on the photo,

then click on the X mark next to the tagged name.

this will remove the tagging.

I want to keep the person tagged in the photo. 

But I want to change the photo that's being used as the personal photo.

To do that,

go to the Photos and Videos > Tag people page,

find the relevant person in the Already Tagged list,

and choose to Change Personal Photo.

That got it - thanks! Might I suggest you update your documentation though, because this help article clearly states that I should load the person from the tree and then change the photo there.

Hi Dave,

You are right, it is a little confusing.

Most of our users use FTB to build their tree and tag photos,

or use the Family Site to build the tree and tag photos.

In this case you use FTB to build the tree, but tag the photos online.

Yeah, see there's collaboration between my father and me on building the site, but obviously I have a version of the tree on my machine and he has one on his, so we decided to just make moves and changes on the software and do as much as possible online!

Thanks again though, I can now roll out more photo albums!
