Please read: Error in e-mail invitation & Question about Administrators

I have written the support group a few times without answers, which is sad, as I am a premium member entitled to so-called "prioritized help".

I use the site in Danish, and all e-mails and notifications are set to Danish. Besides a few translation errors due to the fact, that we have special titles for certain uncles and aunts (and a text that piece keeps appearing in swedish) my main problem is this, as it keeps my family from joining my family pages:

I have tried to invite two family members to my site, but the e-mails they receive through the MyHeritage service have serious errors, as they state one users' username as "%4" and password as "%5", and another one's is even worse, as a link to download the Family Tree Builder PROGRAM is stated as the persons' username and my first name is listed as the persons' password. The link for the family site is then "%4" and the mail is signed "Yours, %5"

Not very useful...

This brings me to my question: As the sites' Administrator shouldn't I have access to providing people with passwords? I can see the logic as long as the e-mails don't work for me. I could then provide people with (new) password - also if they think someone is misusing their passwords...

I really hope that I will get an answer this time, and hopefully someone in the tech/IT department will correct the errors which almost certianly have something to do with fawlty translations. If you need help translating into Danish I have experience with translating variables and the like from english and german into danish and vice versa.

Best regards - and hope to hear from you soon,

Lars Snitker

Hello Lars,

You are absolutely right and the problem you are reported will be dealt with and fixed right away. I hope that the problem will be rectified in the beginning of the upcoming week. Thank you for reporting this.

With regards to supplying passwords to the site members. Each site member can choose his/her own password when their register. If a member gets invited to the family site by the webmaster, a unique and random password is automatically generated by the system and sent to that member via email. The member can and should change this random password to something more permanent on his/her first visit to the site.

Your offer to help with the Danish translation is greatly appreciated. I will pass along the information to our translation manager

Have a good day Nir Sharony

Hi Lars,

I've just notified technical support of this problem. I understand they're experiencing quite a backlog at the moment, but they will get back to you as soon as possible. If I find a solution before that, I'll post it here as and when I have it.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply. So far I have just dealt with the problem by making an elaborate instruction for my family with screenshots on where they have to click and how to select "Can't remember my password" to obtain a password since that e-mail is readable...
