I have found several smart matches on my family tree and I keep sending messages to request membership to these people ,but, I never get responses from any one! I have sent several requests to several people. I also noticed when I send requests, the time that I send message doesn't match the real time. Is there something wrong? Are these people getting my requests or are they just not logging in for days and days? I really want to get ahold of these people because I found my great-great grandparents and some of these people have pictures! Please help me. Do I have a wrong setting or something?
My name is Jeanie and i am having some of the same problems. Iam reseaching the king family tree and there are alot of Goffs in there in fact my grandmother 3 generations wasElizabeth W. Goff then i have a John Goff but i have no dates on John.thank you.
I got e-mail on your reply to post, but I'm still having trouble requesting memberships. I'm still researching Miller family, haven't gotten to my husbands family yet. His mothers name is Bertha(who was a Fisher),she married Leon Goff. I forgot his parents names, but I know he has a bro named Paul. I'll get back to you on the names.I hope I can get straightened out how to request membership, I will add you.
If you find a Family Site that has information that you are interested in, but is blocked to the public, you will need to contact the Webmaster of that site to request membership. You can do this by going to the bottom of the login page for the Family Site and select "Contact Webmaster" link. Fill out a nice message with the reason you would like to be a member and submit.
There is not much that we can do regarding a member that is unresponsive. What I can suggest to you is to go to that persons profile and add a comment to their profile. They will then get an e-mail, and perhaps they will be more likely to get in touch with you.
In order to add you as a family member, the administrator of the site should go into the "home">"add more family" tab in the family site. In there he/she can add your email address if you already been added to the tree. If not, there is another option in the same screen, all the way down, that says "invite more people manually". He/she will need to add your email in that field and you will become a member of the site.
Would this person contacting Web Master of a site be able to view a family site without first being signed up with a My Heritage account? I have someone wanting to just be able to go in and view my site without putting a family site of their own on My Heritage. Thanks.
I have a similar problem but it involves access to my OWN database. There was an acquisition of another software company and their records (including mine) were merged into the myHeritage site. I cannot gain access to one of the trees now. It will not accept any logins (that I can remember) and if I send a message (to myself), the message never arrives. I believe that older tree is set to a defunct email address and gets bounced. How can I regain access to the other tree? This is a second request to help, the first attempt went unanswered months ago.
The site I cannot acces is titled Chudek Web Site / 6959657-1
It says the manager is Robert654 which sounds like a system generated user name (maybe?)
There are many Smart Matches from my active site Chudek and Czudek family histories
FYI: There are two other sites where my name (Robert John Chudek) appear in Smart Matching. I do have access and can enter these site without any problem. The only problem site is the first one, above, underlined.
I have a simliar problem - well actually no... I've been a complete muppet and tried to publish from family tree builder just additions over top of an existing site.
I think what I've managed to do is wipe my site, all of my other site access and all of the research and photos I've been collecting for a couple of years. BLOW OUT I know.
So I was wondergin if you'd be able to help
The site that I've created is http://www.myheritage.com/site-134857961/russell, I'm not sure of the site I had created now, but it was registered under my gmail account or my work email (bevan.russell@airnz.co.nz or bevan.russell@gmail.com). I originally had 3 trees under my 'russell family site', the trees were 'Charlies family tree', 'gedcom import' and 'Russell tree' if memory serves me right. If you could restore these to what it was on the 13th December 2010 (any time), that would be the best outcome.Or if that isn't an option, can you advise
After reviewing smart matches I tried clicking on the join site link. I then went directly to the site and tried the request membership link on the left as well as the join link in the top text.
I couldn't reproduce this issue in Internet Explorer. Since we are not familiar with this problem, I think that it is something specific in your IE browser settings. I suggest you continue using this in Firefox, but if you're interested in investigating it further, you can try to clear the cache and cookies and check your browser settings for anything unusual.
