if I look at my "SmartMatches" it seems that I would have thousands of them. But when you take a closer look you'll see that most of them are not really Smart Matches. A "Smart Match" could have been born 90 years later, or could have a complete different familyname (even if you set the preferences to "name must match exactly").
It seems that the program doesn't look at birth- /death- date at all. I would suggest MyHeritage to give the possibility in the preferences: "Birt- death-dates must match exactly ## Birth- death-dates must match in a range of 5 / 10 / 20 years ## Birt- death-dates don't have to match at all.
