The Problem in short: back-up the photos in my project.

Hi:

I’ve bought a new PC, installed myheritage and copied ALL directories and files of my old PC C:Documents and SettingsuserMy DocumentsMyHeritage  (including the PHOTO directory) to the new PC. In the new PC, everything in myheritage works well, except that the photos in my heritage project have disappeared.

I’m working in both PCs with family tree builder version 3.0.0.820.

I’m afraid all my work will be lost.

Thanks!

Olga.

Hi,

Thank you for writing to us!

In this case I would suggest you to try another way of copying your project from one computer to another. Please open Family Tree Builder on your old computer and make sure you can see photos there. Then go in File menu > Manage projects. Select the project from the list and click Export Package. Follow the steps of export and save this file on your hard disc. This should save the entire project including photos. Copy this file to any data media, take it to your new computer and save it there.

Then open Family Tree Builder on your new PC, go to File  menu > Manage projects and click Import Package. This should import your project with photos.

I hope this will be helpful.

With kind regards,

Anna
