I have a problem with deleting an unknown person on my tree. Can anybody help me with this. I hope i don't have to delete the whole family to just delete one unknown..too much work involved
I FIND THAT I AM GETTING IN A MESS WITH MY TREE. KENNETH HENRY VANN WAS MY FATHER NOT MY UNCLE AND OTHER NAMES HAVE COME UP WRONGLY ALSO I CANNOT DELETE MY UNKNOWNS AND FINDING IT RATHER FRUSTERATING.IT HURTS WHEN MY DAD COMES UP AS MY UNCLE

Hi Peggy. . .I dont do my family tree online. I use the software on my desktop and then I upload it. What I do is I attach Parent to the child first ie if the person you want to delete is in between or to just delete the person. . .I click
edit (in their box)

you can always reconnect the lines, but I have found when I delete someone, my page loads back to my son. So just remember the names above and below the person you delete and you should be fine. Hope this helps.
I found that by loading tree, then right click on the subject name, then click edit, then select "delete that person" will do the job. However, any ancester that was listed for that person will remain but all descendants of that person will also be deletedl. If you make a mistake in the name, and looking to replace the name then I would then edit that person, change the name and stats then the descendants should remain..
